As Soil Association G808 Organic farmers since 1990 when we came to running an Airsoft Game Site on our own farmland in the UK, we soon became aware that almost all BBs used were polluting the environment, as they were not Biodegradable in any real fashion.
We wanted to use and later sell Biodegradable BBs and this led us to start searching for the best Bio products for use in Airsoft.
Although we are keenly interested in biodegradability we are also concerned with the effect of the use of materials may have on Global warming, in the case of Bio plastic materials the production of these plastics in there current form may well produce more CO2 than conventional by as much as a factor of ten, therefore it may well be the case that with items which can be recycled such as drinks bottles etc that Bio plastic is the wrong material to use.
This aside in the case of BBs which actually have a relitivly low Bio plastic content overall we feel due to the areas that they used in, mostly open countryside, justfy its use.
